Womanhood has been a source of great pain, sadness, and frustration in my life, as I am sure you can relate to if you ended up here. Today, I'm opening up and sharing my journey, including some pictures of my struggle with small breasts which I found out are related to hormonal imbalances. I'll also reveal how I managed to heal hormonal imbalance at its core, and you might find the real cause quite surprising! I’m here to inspire hope and new possibilities, and also offer my expertise to help you find lasting relief for your mind and body.
Spoiler: I did NOT end up balancing my hormones with fancy or expensive estrogen creams, yoni eggs, removing toxins, stress and sleep management, elimination diets, restrictive food eating, or supplements. I DID try some of those things (list included) and some of them I still practice but that’s not what helped me find lasting results. If you’ve tried those things too and are still looking for help with your hormones, you may find my totally different perspective and treatment approach for balancing hormones naturally just the answer you’ve been looking for.
This article combines my personal experiences with answers to questions from others facing irregular and painful periods, acne, mood swings, and more. Read on to learn how I successfully used a spiritual approach to naturally balance my hormones. You too can begin a journey to naturally and holistically balance your hormones.
My name is Marcela, and my goal is to help women enjoy womanhood and step into their femininity. I achieve this by guiding them in plant-based living, emotional and trauma healing, and the embodiment of feminine traits, thereby addressing the whole human complex. I love this work because it touches the core of what we truly seek—honoring the divine feminine and creating an inner union of the divine feminine and masculine that is reflected externally. This is something that no cream or pills can provide.
During my struggle with hormonal imbalances, I just wanted to get rid of the symptoms. Suffering from painful periods, I sought relief through a hormonal arm implant, unaware of the deeper impact it would have on my health. Raised in the shadow of an emotionally absent father who desired a boy instead of a girl, I grappled with feelings of unworthiness, an unconscious rejection of my femininity and a misguided pursuit of external validation.
When I tended to my emotional pains and reconnected with parts of my being asking for attention, it was a turning point. For the first time in years, I was symptom free, and as a bonus, a loving relationship with myself blossomed, which was what I wanted all along.
If this is something you are interested in, I’m here for you, and I would love to connect.
I started taking contraceptive pills from the age of 23 to avoid pregnancy. I also suffered from severe acne. I resorted to Isotretinoin capsules (Roaccutane), which later I found out can cause anxiety as a side effect. I suffered from persistent vaginal and urinary infections and local discomfort during intercourse and also IBS. I experienced hair growth (hirsutism) – on my chin.
I used to suffer from very painful periods causing cramping and bloating. After complaining about my painful periods with a friend, she recommended a hormonal arm implant that in most cases gets rid of periods. The idea of not having periods sounded like a dream come true to me. I had the implant inserted in my left arm. As expected, the synthetic hormone suspended my periods. I was over the moon, not knowing what I was actually getting myself into.
Going a little further back, I perceived an emotionally absent father who desired a boy instead of a girl from the moment of my conception. That caused me to believe I was unworthy of love because I was a girl. I was unconsciously rejecting my femininity, and that manifested in stunted breast growth plus the other hormonal-related issues.
Driven by a desire for perfection, I underwent numerous cosmetic surgeries to increase the size of my breasts, unknowingly compromising my health. Each surgery brought its own set of challenges, compounded by the detrimental effects of antibiotics that depleted my microbiome and weakened my immune system.
In 2016, I experienced a health crisis characterized by mysterious symptoms, prompting a quest for answers. One night I felt electricity all over my body and the next day I clearly felt like a serpent was crawling my back. I went to the GP but they couldn’t find anything wrong with me. I realized I had to take matters into my own hands. Nobody could help me but myself.
I was desperate so I decided to do extensive research, day in and day out, until I find the truth about health, what causes disease, what is the perfect diet for humans, everything. I would get up between 5 and 6 am in the morning, every single day to do research. I would listen to YouTube videos whilst I was getting ready for work, on the way to work or any place I went to, then at nights and on weekends. I would always be with my headphones on. I was obsessed with the topic. So you can imagine the amount of information I went through, all the things I learned.
According to my research at the time, there are only three causes of disease: chemical, physical and emotional. Physical relates to physical traumas mostly caused by accidents. Chemical relates to toxicity. Emotional relates to our thoughts which create emotions. If my condition was not caused by physical trauma, then I thought it must be toxicity. I decided to reduce my exposure to toxicity as much as possible.
The first step was eliminating processed, chemical-laden foods by gradually transitioning to a whole-food, plant-based diet. After that, I had my contraceptive arm implant removed. I had high expectations that without the implant, my symptoms would almost disappear. To my disappointment that wasn’t the case. I experimented with numerous natural supplements, herbs, and oils. I invested in a water filter and a juice extractor, and undertook juice detoxes, water fasting, castor and turpentine oil purges, colonics, and infrared sauna sessions, to name a few. Additionally, I gradually replaced my personal care products with natural alternatives.
One day, I came across an article titled Breast Implant Illness (BII). The introduction read something along the lines- “if you have mysterious, unexplained symptoms and breasts implants, the cause of your symptoms could be your implants”. So I thought this is it. It is the implants! I decided to have them removed. I didn’t care how much money I had spent and the struggle I had gone through to have them or the fact that I had just recently had a surgery. I learned they are made of silicon, lead among other stuff that nobody should have in their bodies.
I joined BII Facebook groups. I read the most common symptoms from BII are brain fog and fatigue. I didn’t have any of those but still thought explanting was the way to go. It was my only hope. I chose the most experienced and best reviewed surgeon on explants at the time, who happened to be the most expensive one. There was even a waiting list. On the 6th November 2017, I had another surgery, this time to have no more implants.
After switching to plant-based living, my symptoms were reduced by around 80%. I also experienced other benefits. My recurring acne disappeared. My skin became glossier and tighter. My digestion improved. I had no more gases. I had no more tooth decays. I got whiter teeth. I had no more vaginal thrushes. My sight improved. My hair became healthier and shinier. I went even further by switching to natural cleaning products. I started making my own personal care products. I eliminated plastic containers. I replaced all my cooking utensils to non-toxic ones.
However, besides all this I was still feeling the symptoms, although not with the same intensity, but they were still there. Switching to a vegan diet, having no implants and only using natural products all helped me a lot, but they didn’t eliminate the symptoms completely. So I knew the full solution was beyond the physical and had an emotional component which led me to emotional healing. I focused my research on the link between emotions and disease.
I’ve been into natural health most of my life and I wanted to get to the root cause of my symptoms. I sought out holistic practitioners to help me find answers. Here’s a list of most of the things I thought it was linked to, and with each of them I spent time and money treating my symptoms from that point of view.

As you may interpret from that list, I was determined and willing to do almost anything but I was solely focused on my physical body. To be honest, at the time I believed that was how healing was meant to be. I still stand behind some of the above supplements and practices.
I now understand that plant-based living is not only the healthiest way to eat but also represents oneness consciousness. Oneness consciousness involves respecting all living beings, honoring free will, and practicing non-violence, avoiding any infliction of pain or torture on any creature because you recognize that whatever you do to others, you are doing to yourself. Plants are the diet of the future. We are transitioning into the New Earth, which signifies Earth's evolution into a higher vibrational state. To align with this transformation, our bodies must also vibrate at a higher frequency, which involves cultivating a lighter, more vibrant physical state through a plant-based diet.
I believe each treatment and remedy helped on some level because I did notice changes. But, inevitably I found myself in a cycle where my symptoms (painful periods and strange body sensations) would improve and I thought I had finally figured it out, and then after weeks or months, it would get bad again. That’s when I would begin researching again, trying another new thing, constantly seeking an answer. In hindsight I can now see that in addition to not finding the relief I was after, the perceived dead-ends internally created resentment, more complications, feelings of failure and frustration.
I was fighting an inner part of myself because I believed it was unsafe so I felt the need to protect myself and defend. I made parts of myself inaccessible, either to myself or to others.
• I did not want my vulnerable side to be seen.
• I did not want to depend on anyone for anything or receive help
• I did not trust life or men in my life
• I let my mind overpower my emotional self
• I felt superior to men.
• I felt unworthy of love and that I needed to work hard to earn it
• I believed my worth was in my physical body
• I was so hard on myself and constantly strove for perfection – I was completely inaccessible to unconditional love for myself.
• I was unconsciously recreating ancestral pain
One day, I attended a vegan event where a lady said to me, "I can sense a lot of sadness in you. I recommend reading 'You Can Heal Your Life' by Louise Hay." I listened to her audiobooks, and what I discovered was incredible. She revealed truths that were revolutionary to me and, I'm sure, to the average person. If you're not ready for it, you may not fully comprehend it, but if you're reading this, you probably are.
We are the creators of our own reality. We are not victims of circumstances. This means we create our diseases through the beliefs or programs we have, which generate negative thoughts which generate negative emotions. That is how powerful we are. This is because we are actually an extension of source energy. We are divine. Change your thoughts, change your emotions, change your life.
Another day, I came across John Gray’s YouTube videos, the author of "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus." Although I was aware of him previously, I hadn't connected with his work at the time and chose to ignore it. However, this time, his message was mind-blowing and strongly resonated with me.
He explained that there are inherent gender differences and behaviors appropriate to each gender. When we don't align our behavior with our gender, it can lead to an imbalance of sex hormones. This imbalance creates stress, which can result in a wide range of health issues. In other words, the missing piece of the puzzle was hormones.
My hypothesis at that point was that I felt unworthy of love because daddy wanted a girl, not a boy. This led to an unconscious desire to be a man, which created a hormonal imbalance and resulted in polycystic ovary syndrome. The fact that I came into this life as a woman must indicate that I need to work on my feminine energy. I may have been a man in many lifetimes, and embracing my femininity is my current challenge.
It took me about 6 years of trying everything that I listed above to get to a place where I wasn’t even 100% healed, but it was far better than it had been, so I thought I could just live with it like that. But the dissatisfaction kept me seeking. In 2022, the painful periods are back. I click on a YouTube video again. This time it is Ismael Sanchez, and he is talking about ancestral trauma, family constellations and Psychotarology. I enrolled in one of his courses and managed to connect the dots. I realize that I have been unconsciously rejecting my femininity since birth, due to ancestral or past-life trauma related to womanhood. To heal this trauma, my soul chose a father who envisioned me as a boy, serving as a catalyst. This is why my breasts didn't develop, acting as the clearest and earliest sign of rejecting femininity.
The mounting dissatisfaction and seeking eventually led me to consciousness awakening and spirituality. I learned about the true cause of disease and deepened my understanding of universal laws and principles, particularly the divine feminine and masculine. I explored the history of the human race and ancient collective wounds, and I gained insights into family systems. I developed emotional intelligence, focusing on letting go of judgment, resentments, regrets, and guilt. I healed bonds with parents, siblings, family, partners, victims, and perpetrators. I took my power back and embodied spiritual sovereignty. Before I knew it, I no longer felt any symptoms.
Through this journey of trial and error, I learned that addressing hormonal imbalances goes beyond merely changing your diet and treating the physical body. It involves recognizing that we are souls with energetic imprints carried across lifetimes, which need to be resolved. It also requires understanding that symptoms act as a messaging system from your higher self, underscoring an important life lesson. While the disappointment from failed treatments that focused solely on the physical body was real, it taught me valuable lessons about soul evolution, spirituality, and heart coherence, in a world where competition and financial success are often equated with happiness and fulfillment, and where the mind is overvalued while emotions are undervalued.
Healing ancestral trauma, emotional intelligence and embracing femininity have been life-changing for me. Not only were they the turning point in my healing journey, but they also sparked such a passion within me I became an emotional healing and femininity guide – with a passion for helping women struggling with hormonal imbalances.
I first experienced the powerful ancestral healing effect through Tarot and the Eight Feminine Archetypes, which was literally life-changing for me! We cannot manifest our dreams if we harbor resentments, regrets, or guilt related to past events. It's essential to be in a state of peace and gratitude with all the people and situations from our past. We must find peace with our parents, siblings, family, partners, victims, and perpetrators. Unfortunately, some adults still harbor resentment toward their parents.
Ancestral healing practices often involve cultivating compassion, forgiveness, and understanding towards oneself and one's ancestors. By acknowledging the complexities of family history and embracing a spirit of compassion, we can release burdens of guilt, shame, and resentment, and open our hearts to greater love and acceptance.
Learning about feminine energy and the female cycle has been another significant turning point for me. I only wish I had discovered this wisdom in my teenage years rather than in my forties! Embodying feminine energy is true abundance and serves as the gateway to an effortless flow in life. By feeling safe and supported, and aligning with my inner rhythm, I am able to relax, be inspired, and enjoy the process, rather than feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and burned out.
I discovered the connection between female trauma and hormonal imbalance through a course on Psychotarology, a discipline that combines Psychology and the Tarot of Marseilles, developed by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Ismael Sanchez. One day, I felt drawn to a YouTube video by Ismael Sanchez, where he offered insights into behavioral patterns and common issues I'd never encountered before. Intrigued, I wanted to get a private reading, but he informed me that he no longer conducted one-to-one sessions, only offering courses. I enrolled in one of his courses, and suddenly everything made sense. I was able to connect female trauma, self-love and self-worth wounds, unconscious rejection of femininity, and hormonal-related physical symptoms.
Given that my findings are rooted in Tarot, I explored its philosophy, true origins, and therapeutic use. There are many misconceptions about Tarot, particularly regarding its seriousness and reliability as a tool. My perspective shifted when I learned about its origins and how it actually works. It turns out that Tarot was brought to this planet from another world—Venus. Contrary to popular belief, Tarot is a Venusian technology, created on the planet Venus, and not originally from Italy or France. To understand its true origin, one must grasp the concepts of planets, densities, and the consciousness evolutionary process. Furthermore, its wisdom is based on Kabbalah, the science of spirituality.
Learning how my emotional and mental bodies impact my physical body was, life-changing. Hormonal Imbalance in women is often described as “excess of androgens in women.” When I first read that, I couldn’t help but see a connection. I know now that my symptoms were a message from my soul that I needed to change my self-perception, improve my self-worth, learn to radically accept all parts of myself, and heal old hurts by addressing my emotions rather than running away from them or pushing them down. Plain and simple, I needed to learn to love my whole self. The symptoms invited me into deeper love and acceptance of myself. I’m so glad I finally said “yes.”
There is a lot of contradictory information on the internet. There is a lot of corruption in the political, media, commercial and even religious systems aimed at making us live in fear and dependent on their “solutions”. Additionally, science is a good reference point but is not the ultimate truth. Science has been wrong many times because it is meant to evolve. And there are truths that cannot and will never be proved by science. The spiritual world sometimes doesn't accept or is in denial of the physical world. On the other hand, the scientific world should remember that science was born because of a relentless search for truth not denial. Scientists should not only believe in what can be perceived by our senses. It is not by denying that we get to the truth. To accept reality is to be open to all possible realities.
Healing takes time and the process is not linear. Symptoms would ease and then unexpectedly worsen again. Initially, it appeared that the more energy work I engaged in, the more flare-ups occurred. I now understand that this was simply my body undergoing healing—"detoxing" from deep-seated wounds and suppressed emotions that needed to come to the surface. Eventually, my symptoms disappeared, and balance was restored.
This is profound inner work, requiring dedication and a commitment to self-care. It demanded courage to acknowledge the shadow aspects of myself I might rather ignore, and face my survival ego that resisted change because it felt frightening and uncertain. Yet, beyond all of that lies self-empowerment, self-love, and personal freedom. In my view, all of this is absolutely worth the effort, time, and tears that inevitably flowed from experiencing those feelings.
We must heal a disease rather than just cure it. Curing is managing symptoms. Curing is a temporary, dependent fix, not a permanent, self-reliant solution. Healing comes from the word “sanity.” Someone sane is someone who can perceive reality with their senses. Therefore, the process of healing has to do with organising our thoughts basically with being coherent. By being coherent we organize the energy in our body and get rid of what is no longer useful to find balance.
The body is the most advanced technology available, a miraculous system inherently designed to care for and heal itself when not interfered with. To preserve this natural process, it is advisable to avoid drugs, as they often have negative side effects that disrupt homeostasis. Interrupting the body's healing process can lead to more serious health issues in the future. Instead, we can seek support from nature, utilizing herbs and natural remedies to aid healing in harmony with the body's needs.
The human body is geared for health. It is designed to survive any disease. We have to trust that. We do this by going through the symptoms and transcending the disease with minimum external help only from nature. The less reliant on external help, the stronger and healthier you will become.
Some people say It's possible to cure without healing, and to heal without curing but I disagree. When you truly heal and transcend the disease, there is always a cure. It may take a long time, but the physical body will eventually catch up with the soul. Our symptoms are messages from our soul. Once the message is delivered and understood, the ailment must go away because why try keep giving a message when it's already been delivered and understood? There is no need to continue delivering it.
All my symptoms went away without resorting to traditional doctors or any medications. I healed myself through a plant-based diet, natural personal care products, as well as emotional and spiritual healing. This is why I’m very passionate about this topic. This profound experience ignited a passion for natural health and holistic living.
I now create my own personal-care products. I don’t ever take any medications, not even paracetamol. After three years of using an arm hormonal contraceptive, I have regular, painless periods. I have come to appreciate the beauty of breasts that are naturally balanced in size and the beauty of a natural physical appearance. Most importantly I learned to love myself for who I truly am. I’m proud to be a woman and embrace my femininity and have inner peace.
And when I do get some menstrual discomfort or a pimple or a hair on my chin from time to time, I am far less obsessive about it, and I now know how to assist the healing process pretty quickly. When I look in the mirror, I truly see myself and now I can say I fully love the person I see in the reflection. And that’s a HUGE shift from my reality in 2016.
I now choose to look at my symptoms as a way to learn something about myself. For example, what is my soul trying to communicate? Or, what in my present life triggered a wounded part of me that my soul is asking me to see, hear, and love? The symptoms provided the invitation into deeper love for myself, the very heart of what I was seeking all along.
It's common to believe that simply changing your diet or fixing your thyroid will resolve everything, but that's just addressing the damage caused by hormonal imbalance. Hormonal imbalances often lead to stress, and chronic elevated cortisol levels can suppress the immune system, leading to gut issues and disturbed sleep. This is why there is a strong connection between hormones, digestive problems, and immune system issues.
The old-school formula, “gut + thyroid + taking supplements = curing hormonal imbalance”, leaves you dependant on supplements for life and managing symptoms, without changing your attitude and behaviour related to self-care, work and relationships. Instead, I help women heal emotional and ancestral trauma and embrace femininity. We work with the emotional and mental bodies. This approach cultivates inner strength and opens the heart, empowering and transforming you from within.
The new formula becomes: “plant-based living + emotional & ancestral trauma healing + embracing femininity = Healing and balancing.”
From a broader perspective: "cover the basics + embrace femininity + embrace divinity" = lesson learned (healed!)
This method encourages a heart-centered approach, fostering a healthy relationship with yourself and forms the basis for balance. Taking care of yourself this way is a spiritual journey that supports long-term physical health and self-connection.
